* A .700 FLINTLOCK SINGLE-SHOT MUSKET, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'M1777 CHARLEVILLE', serial no. 4053, COMPLETE WITH BAYONET, circa 1795, with 42 1/2in. round laminated iron barrel, plain military style lock with brass pan, walnut three-quarter stock with dished cheek-piece, the right side of butt stamped in large letters 'ARGAU' over 'Z.H.' (probably indicating Swiss issue), martial cartouche to left cheek, iron furniture including finger-grooved trigger-guard tang, two broad barrel bands and twin banded nose-cap with applied brass fore-sight and under barrel ramrod, together with a period socket bayonet, (rusted, missing scabbard)
